FAQs

Can I make my property tax payment at the Assessor’s Office?

No. The Tangipahoa Parish Assessor’s Office is not responsible for sending tax bills or accepting tax payments. All property taxes are collected by the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office. Payments can be made online through the Sheriff’s website, submitted by mail, or handled in person at the Sheriff’s office.

I think my property value is wrong — what are my next steps?

If you want to challenge your assessed value, you will need to provide documentation showing why the value should be adjusted. This may include a recent appraisal (dated within the last year) or the declaration page from your homeowner’s insurance policy. Please bring any supporting documents when you visit our office so we can review your assessment together.
